To Kill a Mockingbird Activity 2

Untitled Slide

With America’s horrific past of racial issues between whites and blacks, discrimination seems to be an ongoing issue in modern America according the the article, “Blacks and whites see racism in the United States very, very differently” by Ryan Struyck.

Blacks vs. Whites: Job hiring

As stated in the text, with the data taken from a CNN poll taken in 2015, “54% of blacks feel that whites have a higher opportunity at getting hired for a job while 81% of whites feel that blacks have a good chance at getting jobs in America.”

Blacks and whites tend to see racial discrimination very differently. Struyck writes that, “66% of nonwhites label racism as a “very serious problem” and only 39% of whites feel similarly. Maybe majority of blacks remain to feel discriminated against due to their harsh past of facing whites who would discriminate.

With that being said, blacks feel much more discriminated against than whites feel. Even in our modern day, minor racism continues.
