A Solid is matter with a defined shape and volume
The atoms are tightly compacted together and they vibrate.

Liquids
A liquid is matter that has a definite volume but no definite shape.
The atoms are close together but they can move easier.

Gas
Is a matter that doesn't have a definite shape or volume.
The atoms are very spread out.
