EQUATION

  • A mathematical sentence that showsthat two expressions are equivalent

VARIABLE

  • A symbol used to represent a quantity that can change

INEQUALITY

  • A mathematical sentence that shows the relationship between quantities that are not equivalent

INTERGER

  • Tne set of whole numbers and their opposites

ORDER OF OPERATIONS

  • SEE NOTES
A rule for evaluation expressions first perform the operations in parentheses, the commute powers and roots, then perform all multiplication and division from left to right , and the perform all addition and subtraction from left to right

SOLUTION OF AN EQUATION

  • A value or values that make an equation true

RATIONAL NUMBER

  • Any number that can be expressed as a ratio of two integers
