PROPORTIONS MEANS:

• A PART, SHARE, OR NUMBER CONSIDERED IN COMPARATIVE RELATION
• TO A WHOLE.

RATIO MEANS:

• So the proportion is: 176 miles/8 gallons = x miles/14 gallons

SOLVE

• 176/8=X/14
• 8x= 14X176
• 8x=2464
• 8x/8=2464/8
• X=308 miles
