WHAT MADE NON-VIOLENCE WORK?

CONDITION 1

• Dr.King walked to Washington with a mixed racial group
• Non-violently he gave his "I have a dream" speech
• He acknowledged the unjust laws in their society
• Talked about segregation

CONDITION 2

• "Not so much as a toothpick."
• This quotation is stated by Dr.King
• He is saying that we shall not fight we wont have anything to fight back with.
• This shows that when violence is present they used non violence

Condition 3
"I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood."

WILD CARD- ROSA PARK

• Rosa Park was another leader of the Civil Rights Movemnet
• She sat in a seat which was for whites only and refused to get up
• She was sent to jail for civil disobediance
• She started a boycott of public buses.
• Parks acknowledged civil disobedience
