John Dalton

Atomic History

Atomic theory:
- All substances are made of atoms.
- Atoms cannot be destroyed, created, or divided.
- Same elements = same; Different = different
- Atoms join other atoms to make new substances

J.J Thomson

Atomic Theory

Discovery
There was a mistake in Dalton's theory, there's something in the middle called an electron. (Negatively charged)
Name of his model:
PLUM - PUDDING model

Ernest Rutherford

Atomic History

Discovery:
The inside of an atom, that's extremely dense, is called nucleus.
Description of the model:
It goes:
-atom
-electrons
-nucleus

Niels Bohr

Atomic History

Idea about electron and orbital levels.
- Electrons can jump from one level to another level.

Modern Theory - a.k.a Electron Cloud.

Atomic History

2 scientist:
- Erwin Schodinger
- Werner Heinsenberg
Electron Cloud description:
- Regions inside the atom are likely to be found.
