What is a map

• 2D representation of something real
• Used for navigation, and/or to make something easier to understand

Road maps- used to navigate, includes roads and barriers

Topographical maps- can be used the same way as road maps, but mainly represent altitude change for land masses

Aeronautical maps-
show flight paths

Concept maps-show ideas and how they connect to each other

Spider maps- a type of concept map that has the main idea in the center and everything branched out from it

Hierarchy map- another type of concept map, it shows information based on order of importance

Gene map-shows genes withing DNA

Floor plan-shows different rooms in a building
