100% means the entire quantity.
100% of 10 is 10.
100% of 1 is 1.
100% of 1/2 is 1/2.

HALF
50% means half of the whole? It could be a half-moon, or half of a pizza.
50% of 10 is 5.
50% of 1 is 1/2.

A TENTH, DIVIDE BY 10
10% means a tenth of the whole.
A tenth of one dollar is a dime.
10% of 10 is 1.
10% of 1 is 0.1.
10% of 1/2 is 1/20 or 0.05.
