PRESENTATION OUTLINE
magnet- having the property of iron or steel.
attract- when a north pole of the magnet is brought near the south pole of another magnet-pulling together.
Repel- if two north poles or to south poles of magnets come together-pushing apart.
magnetic force- the invisible something responsible for the push or pull,of magnet
Temporary magnet-a piece of iron that behaves like a magnet when it is touching a permanent magnet
Circuit-A pathway for the flow of electricity.
Component-parts of a circuit,such as the d-cell,wires and lightbulb
Closed circuit- A complete circuit
that electricity will flow through.
open circuit- an incomplete circuit through which electricity will not flow
Switch- an item used to open and close circuit.
Insulator- a material that prevents/stops the flow of electricity, such as plastic, rubber, glass, etc.
conductor-a material, commonly a metal such as copper, aluminum, that electricity will flow through.
Series circuit-a circuit in which all components are connected in one big circle so there is only one pathway for electricity to flow
parallel circuit- a circuit split into two or more pathways before coming together at the d-cell (battery)
Electromagnet- a coil of wire wound around a core of iron or steel, which produces an electric field when electricity flows through the wire.
