MADEIRA

MY DREAM VACATION

WHY I CHOSE MADEIRA

I chose Madeira because, it is a beautiful and a relaxing place. It is far away from home and has many interesting things, from the sled ride transportation to the amazing sites. Madeira only has about 250 000 people that live there on the island, that is 3 times less then the amount of people live in Winnipeg. Its nice to see a place not to populated. I really do think that Madeira is an amazing place to spend your dream vacation.

HOW FAR AWAY IS IT

From Madeira Portugal airport "Madeira airport" , to Winnipeg Manitoba airport "James Armstrong Richardson international airport or simply Winnipeg air port", it is exactly 6,621 km away from each other.

TOTAL TIME CHANGE

The total time change between Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, is exactly 6 hours behind of Madeira Portugal. Which means if I leave June 5th at 2:00pm, the flight from Winnipeg to Lisbon Portugal would take 8 hours on air Canada for the flight. And to get to Madeira Portugal from Lisbon it would take approximately 1:30 minutes. By the time you get to Madeira it would be 5:30am.

THE WEATHER AND THINGS TO PACK

The weather in Madeira is normally in between 20 and 27. I will wear one pair of shorts a t-shirt,and a pair of good walking shoes. That it is my dream vacation, if I need something I can buy it there and use it at my leisure. That means I won't be packing lots of things and it will be a light trip so I can bring more things back home with me for memory's.

WHAT TO DO?

The first thing I will be doing in Madeira is the jeep cruise. With a full day jeep tour around Funchal that takes you to the Jurassic landscapes of the island. I will be discovering the secrets of Madeira islands. The tour of Funchal Madeira is for eight hours, and with a cost of $68.

The second thing I will be doing in Madeira is the Cabo Girão skywalk, wine tasting and dolphin watching. Departing from Funchal I will be riding over to Serra Da Aguén in Ribeira Brawa. There will be small but beautiful vegetation and amazingly high mountains. The boat ride will cost $120 and the ride is nine hours long.

The third thing I will be doing in Madeira is the Funchal Madeira hop-on hop-off bus tour. I will be cruising along the hillsides of Funchal sup-tropical capital of Madeira. I will be riding on a double-decker bus through some of the nicest places in Funchal.
This tour will be for the whole day and will cost a total of $29.

For my fourth thing to do in Madeira I will be doing the Christopher Columbus "Nau Santa Maria" cruise. I will be spending one day aboard a replica of the largest of the three ships used by Christopher Columbus. Christopher columbus on his first voyage he sailed along the south side of Madeira, I will be seeing where he had been hundreds of years before. For the cruise on where Christopher voyaged it will be a total of $53.

For my fifth and finale spot I will be going to the well known "at least in Portugal" Northwest-Enchanted Terracess-Porte Moniz to enjoy the last bit of my trip.I will explore Madeiras volcanic lava pools and unesco forest in a 4 by 4 vehicle with an open roof. They will take you to the forgotten country side villages and many more mysterious places. This trip will be about eight hours and will cost $73.

WHERE WIL I EAT?

The spot I will be eating at is at the Tamerna Madeira located in Funchal. It is a five star restaurant and has the finest food and most traditional food on the island. It is located approximately 10 blocks away from my hotel and has free parking so I can park my car. Most of the activities include some sort of meal so I will not be going to the same restaurant every day. The hotel I am staying at also has free supper and has a restaurant open most of the day.

MONEY/CURRENCY

Through my whole vacation in Madeira Portugal I will bring an amount of $50000 just in case I need it for something why'll I'm there. I will also bring a Visa card with $10000 on it so if a place takes visa I can use that instead.
