FUN FACT

Esch-Sur-Sûre is a tiny town in North-Western Luxembourg. Its population is only 410. Despite being that small, it’s a very popular tourist attraction especially young couples who whould want a quiet holiday. The picture in the background is Esch-Sur-Sûre.

SOME FACTS ON ESCH-SUR-SÛRE

• The town was the second smallest town in Luxembourg until Neuhausten and Heiderscheild got inhabitants in 2011
• Neuhausten has only 62 inhabitants while Heiderscheild has 393
• By 2017 the inhabitants has gone up to 410 increasing by 100
• It still counts as a town.
• Neuhausten ,Heiderscheild and Esch-Sur-Sûre are known as the Esch-Sur-Sûr district.

Is the largest City in Luxembourg. With nearly 3 times the people of the second largest city in Luxembourg, Esch-Sur-Alzette. It’s a very popular tourist destination and is a very friendly city. Luxembourg City is also one of the De Facto Cities in the EU. (Alongside Brussels and Strasbourg) as is the seat of several institutions, agencies and bodies of the EU.

I’ll recommend, if you like quitness, Esch-Sur-Sûre. The hotels are really nice and the people are really friendly. There one pub there. Hotels range from 3 stars to 4 and a half stars.

And of course you can’t visit Luxembourg without going to Luxembourg! The cities hotels range from 2-5 stars.

BEST HOTELS IN LUXEMBOURG

• Meliã hotel. 5 stars. Cheapest new hotel in Luxembourg. Built in 2012. WiFi
• The Queen Luxury Apartment. 6 stars but is pretty old so that’s why it’s on no.2 WiFi
• Hotel Le Royal/Royale. 5 stars. A night could range from 18k to 500k. A day of WiFi could range from €100-€400
• DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels. 4 star. Includes a multiple gaming rooms. WiFi
• Novotel Hotel Central Luxembourg. 4 and 3/4 stars. WiFi
• And Finally, no that’s not the hotel’s name, Alcvisse Parc Hotel. 4.5 stars and has a sky restaurant.

Perhaps the most traditional of all Luxembourg foods is the Judd Mat Gaardebounen. Smoked pork collar with broad beans. The meat is drenched for two days.

Apart from the traditional foods, Luxembourg is also the second country, just a week after Japan, to make the Pizza burger. Dad and his friend Gary, who owns a Burger King made me my own pizza burger and it was delicious! But very few fast food restaurants serve it. And yes, the pizza burger in the picture behind is exactly like the one I ate

• Grand Ducal Palace:Luxembourg=Palace residence of Grand Duke.
• Adolphine bridge=Early stone arch built in 1900
• Cathedral Notre-Dame=Ancient Catholic cathedral built in 17th century.
• Grand Duke Jean Museum of Modern Art= Outdoor art sculptures exhibition.
• Gëlle Fra= War monument topped with golden statue.
• Casemates Du Boc/Bock= Medieval tunnels and WWII shelter
• Place Gullamaume II= Spacious Medieval public square. And home to the Pizza Hut that serves Pizza burgers.
• National Art Museum Luxembourg= The feature is in its name
• Chemin De La Coriche= Historic Medieval town also a WWII refuge camp and also home to the Restaurant De La Coriche that serves Pizza Burgers.

Final fact: Luxembourg is known for banking, it’s often put against the Swiss banks.
