The emphysema is a disease that happens when you smoke cigarettes. The alveoli becomes enlarged and merges with other alveoli. This makes it hard to breathe and can be deadly.
The main job of the lungs are to oxygenate the blood and it allows blood to discharge the carbon dioxide

The main job of the bronchioles are to make sure air gets to the alveoli. There are 30,000 bronchioles in each lung.
The main job of the alveoli is to make sure air and carbon dioxide get through the lungs. There are 300 million alveoli in an adults lung.
