  • This story begins with a boy named Jack
  • He writes poetry for his teacher
  • Jack doesn't want to write poems but he wrote a good one about a blue car

JACH HAS TO WRITE ABOUT A PET

  • Jack is not confident about writing poetry
  • Jack does not want to write about his dog
  • My prediction was that he might not have liked the dog
  • My second prediction was that his parents may have given his dog away

A LETTER FOR MR. WALTER DEAN MYER

  • Jack wrote a poem
  • Then Jack asked his teacher to type up his poem
  • His teacher told him that he had to do it for himself

EXAMPLES OF FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE IN THE BOOK

  • Personification: "a car needs gas and it's broken down and can't sleep"

MY OPINION

  • I would recommend this book to anyone who has a pet
  • I liked the book because it was funny in parts and sad in parts
  • I liked how the author wrote some of the words in sizes like, SMALL
  • I liked the title, "Love That Dog" and the cover too because Jack had a yellow dog
