  • The solar system has been around for a long time.
  • There are eight planets in the solar system now.
  • It has a dwarf planet, know as Pluto.
  • And one big star, the sun.
  • Its in the milky way galaxy

THE SUN

THE CENTER OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM

SUN FACTS

  • The sun is the biggest thing in the solar system
  • It can hold up to1,300,000 earths
  • It is made up of helium
  • It is to hot to stand on
  • It is 4.6 billion years old

MERCURY

THE FIRST PLANET FROM THE SUN

MERCURY FACTS

  • Mercury is 57,909,227 km from the sun.
  • Its the second hottest planet in the solar system
  • One earth year is 88 days on mercury
  • Its the smallest planet in the solar system
  • Its gravity is 3.7 m/s2

SAME AND DIFFERENT

  • They both have cores
  • They are both in the astroid belt
  • The both revolve around the sun
  • Mercurey is smaller than earth
  • Its closer to the sun

VENUS

THE SECOND PLANET FROM THE SUN

VENUS FACTS

  • Venus is 67,240,000 km from the sun
  • Its the hottest planet in the solar system
  • One earth year is 225 days on venus
  • Venus and Earth are almost the same size accept 638 km
  • Its gravity is 8.87 m/s2

SAME AND DIFFERENT

  • They are both rocky planets
  • They are ALMOST the same size
  • The both rotate onan axis
  • Venus is a TINY bit smaller than earth
  • It's hoter than earth

EARTH

THE THIRD PLANET FROM THE SUN

EARTH FACTS

  • Earth is 150,000,000 km away from the sun
  • The only planet in the solar system to have life
  • One earth year is 365 days on earth
  • Mostly covered with water
  • Its gravity is 9.807 m/s2

SAME AND DIFFERENT

  • Earth is exactly the same as earth
  • The dont have any differences
  • This page really doesn't need to be here
  • I just did this for fun
  • I just made you read this!

MARS

THE FOURTH PLANET FROM THE SUN

MARS FACTS

  • Mars is 227,900,000 km away from the sun
  • It has frozen ice on its surface
  • A year on mars is 685.98 days compared to earth
  • Its red because it's rusted
  • It's gravity is 3.711 m/s2

SAME AND DIFFERENT

  • The both rotate on an axis
  • The have water (well, mars has FROZEN water)
  • The are both inside the astroid belt
  • Mars is smaller than earth
  • It doesn't have life (or DOES it?)

JUPITER

THE FIFTH PLANET FROM THE SUN

JUPITER FACTS

  • Jupiter is 778,500,00 km away from the sun
  • It's big red dot is a storm going on for a long
  • A year on jupiter is 11.86 earth years
  • It's the biggest planet in the solar system
  • It's gravity is 24.79 m/s2

SIMILARITIES

  • They both spin around the sun
  • The both have an axis
  • They dont have rings
  • Jupiter is GIGANTIC!!!
  • It is bigger than earth

SATURN

THE SIXTH PLANET FROM THE SUN

SATURN FACTS

  • Saturn is 890,700,000 km away from the sun
  • It's rings are clearly seen
  • A year on saturn is 29.4 earth years
  • It's rings are made of ice, dust, and rocks
  • It's gravity is 10.44 m/s2

SAME AND DIFFERENT

  • They both have an axis
  • They both spin around the sun
  • They both have a core
  • Saturn has rings, OBVIOUSLY
  • Its bigger than earth

URANUS

THE SEVENTH PLANET FROM THE SUN

URANUS FACTS

  • Uranus is 2,877,000,000 km from the sun
  • It's the last planet in the solar systemy
  • A year on uranus is 84.3 earth years
  • It's got a parallel axis
  • It's gravity is 8.69 m/s2

SAME AND DIFFERENT

  • They both spin around the sun
  • They both have an axis
  • They both
  • Uranus is bigger than earth
  • Its an ice/gas planet

NEPTUNE

THE EIGHTH PLANET FROM THE SUN

NEPTUNE FACTS

  • Neptune is 4,503,000,000 km away from the sun
  • It's the smallest ice giant in the solar system
  • A year on neptune is 164.8 earth years
  • It's named after the sea king, King Neptune
  • It's gravity is 11.15 m/s2

SAME AND DIFFERENT

  • They both have cores
  • They both are cold (earth sometimes is cold)
  • They both rotate around the sun
  • Neptuene is bigger than earth
  • Neptune is a gas giant

PLUTO

THE NINTH "PLANET" FROM THE SUN

PLUTO FACTS

  • Pluto is 5,000,000,000.8 km away from the sun
  • Was a planet untill August 16, 2006
  • A year on pluto is 248 earth years
