Who: Great Britain, Argentina
What: Fought over the Falklands/Malvinas islands
When: April 2nd 1982- July 12th
Where: Off the southern coast of Argentina
Why: Britain wanted colonial power, Argentina wanted what was once theirs

FALKLANDS CONTINUED
Leaders: Margaret Thatcher (Britain), General Leopoldo Galtieri (Argentina)
Short term causes: both sides had domestic economic problems, political instability, and the desire to reclaim for Argentina.
Immediate causes: Argentina invades the Falklands on April 2, 1982. Unable to solve problem.
Results: British won and they kept the land. Argentines still wanted the land.

Who: Nationalists (right), Republicans (left)
What: The clash between the left and the right
When: 1936-1939
Where: Throughout Spain, Nationalists were in north, Republicans were in the south
Why: The economic crisis caused a look for a new government.

General Francisco Franco led the Nationalists
Germany and Italy was also involved with the uprising of the Nationalists
Josef Stalin supported the Republicans
Hitler used planes and tanks to test for WWII.

Who: Iraq-Saddam Hussein, Middle Eastern Countries
What: There was a coalition between the middle eastern countries going against Iraq.
When: 1990-1991, invaded Kuwait on August 2, 1990.
Where: Middle East- Kuwait, Iraq
Why: Iraq took over Kuwait for their oil land to solve their economic crisis

When sino Japanese war started the GMD and CCP joined together but later attacked each other

Second part of the war fought after WWII mainly against each other after Japan lost
