CONCERN

SPEND A DAY ON VACATION

SMART GOAL

  • Specific: Cedar Point Trip
  • Measurable: Save at least$200
  • Attainable: Start saving in January, save $10 per week
  • Realistic because it gives me enough time to save a reasonable amount of money
  • Time Bound: Trip date is June 25th

I plan to save $200 for a day trip to Cedar Point by saving $10 each week.

COMpARISON SHOPPING

  • Store Brand Sunscreen: SPF 50, $.47/oz
  • Name Brand Sunscreen: SPF 50, $1.33/oz

COMPARISON SHOPPING

  • Cookies (road trip snack)
  • Store Brand: 2 oz, $1.99
  • Name Brand: 2 oz, $2.99

COMPARISON SHOPPING

  • Walking Shoes
  • Store Brand: $54
  • Name Brand: $64

After planning the project, I've decided that the amount of money saved for this trip will cover the needs for the trip such as the ticket and food. And wants, such as souvenirs, are not a priority. The ticket costs $40 per person, so for me and a guest I have about $100 left over for food. I had to calculate how long it will take me to save $200, adding up to about 6 months. This allows me to take the trip at the end of June.
