1. Egg

  • first the mother lays the egg on a leaf. They are laid close together.

2. larva

  • Next, the egg hatches into a larva. A caterpillar eats leaves and grows really fast.

3. chrystalis

  • This is the stage when the caterpillar has finished growing. The caterpillar forms a chrysalis. Not ony does it rest and forms in it it also protects them while its forming. The chrysalis is green because the it camoflges with the tree to protect them from predators.

4. butterfly

  • Now the caterpiller has transformed into a butterfly.It opens its chrysalis. The butterfly comes out damp.The butterfly is tired when it comes out so it rest. After the butterfly rest it flies away.
