Company History

  • 1996 LG merged with IBM (later terminated).
  • April 1, 2000 LG Chemical is split into 3 companies (LGCL, LG Chem, and LG Household & Health Care).
  • LG Chem merged with LG Petrochemical.
  • 1999 LG and Royal Philips Display form LG Philips LCD (later LG Display) through a joint venture.
  • 1995 GoldStar and Lucky is renamed LG after they acquire US-based Zenith.
