PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Organism
Organisms are a biotic, or living, part of the environment (one animal). Rocks and sunshine are parts of the non-living environment. Organisms usually have five basic needs. They need air, water, nutrients (food), energy and a place to live.

Community
A group of people or animals living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common.

Ecosystem
An ecosystem is a community of living organisms (plants, animals and microbes) in conjunction with the nonliving components of their environment (things like air, water and mineral soil), interacting as a system.

Biome
Major biomes include deserts, forests, grasslands, tundra, and several types of aquatic environments. Each biome consists of many ecosystems whose communities have adapted to the small differences in climate and the environment inside the biome. All living things are closely related to their environment.

Biosphere
The biosphere is the global sum of all ecosystems. It can also be termed the zone of life on Earth, a closed system, and largely self-regulating.ll
