LEPTOSPIROSIS

• Leptospirosis is zoonotic disease caused by the bacteria genus leptospira also by serovars

SPECIES IT AFFECTS

• Sheep, goats, pigs, horses, cattle
• Dogs
• Is rare if a cat gets it

SYMPTOMS

• Host adapted- infertility, reproductive tract infections
• No host adapted- high fever, anemia, red urine, jaundice, sometimes death in 3 to five days for calves and in older cattle fever, lethargy, thick yellow milk, abortion, embryonic death, birth of weak calves

INCUBATION PERIOD

• Generally 3 to 7 days for all animals

TRANSMISSION

• Through wild animals

• It is transferable to humans

METHOD OF QUARANTINE

• You should quarantine animal till it gets its vaccine
