Article 1 of the constitution explains the legislative branch

Legislative branch is made up of the house of representatives and the senate. These two make up congress.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

  • Someone has to write an introduction of a bill to congress, anyone can.
  • After that the bill goes to a committe so they can go over it.
  • Subcommittee is where we know if it would be passed or not
  • Goes to the floor of the house senate
  • Leadership decides when it is up for consideration

HOW A BILL BECOMES A LAW

  • A bill only goes to floor if full committee votes to approve it
  • When debate is done, the bill is passed depending on the votes
  • BILL PASSES BOTH HOUSES OF CONGRESS FOR IT TO GO TO PRESIDENT
  • If president agrees he signs into law
  • Or veto it and send it back to congress if he doesn't agree
