There are six kingdoms, but I'm going to discuss two kingdoms: Protista and Fungi

PROTISTA

A KINGDOM OF SINGLE CELL ORGANISMS AND AQUATIC PLANTS.

PROTISTS CHARACTERISTICS

  • Eukaryotic organisms
  • Mostly unicellular, some multicellular
  • Live in water Ex: algae, plankton, etc.
  • Can be heterotrophic or autotrophic
  • Protists aren't plants, animals, or fungus

CHARACTERISTICS THAT DON'T MAKE ORGANISMS PART OF PROTISTA

  • Organisms that are animals, plants, or fungus
  • Don't live in water
  • Prokaryotic organisms

EXAMPLES OF PROTISTS

  • Algae
  • Plankton
  • Sea lettuce
  • Slime molds

FUNGI CHARACTERISTICS

  • They're Eukaryotic
  • They're Heterotrophic
  • They're unicellular/multicellular
  • They have enzymes used to break down food

CHARACTERISTICS THAT DON'T MAKE ORGANISMS PART OF FUNGI

  • Prokaryotic
  • They aren't Protists, animals or plants
  • Autotrophic

EXAMPLES OF FUNGI

  • Mushrooms
  • Molds
  • Yeasts
  • Lichen
