Mansfield Elementary School has seven students of Asian decent, three of African American decent, five students of Latino decent, 13 students of Native American decent, one student of two or more races and two hundred seventy-two of Caucasian decent.
Most families have a dynamic of only one parent working or it is a single parent home. Some families will have jobs within the community, which are entry-level positions
Parental involvement is fair at the elementary level. The elementary have fall festivals, literacy nights, and many more opportunities for parents to help.
Parents don't always find the importance of education and don't help students with homework.
Most community members are living in a house they own.
In those homes fifty-two percent are married, ten percent are non-married female homes, thirty –four percent are non-family homes, and thirty one percent are single. The average home value is about $97,360.
The median household income is 36,249. The population growth rates are in the negatives.
They offer health care, mental health, dental and vision. This clinic was added on to the Mansfield Elementary School with the use of a five hundred thousand dollar grant. Before the clinic the community had twenty percent of students that had no access to health care.
The community also has ample churches for community members to attend. Mansfield has Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, new Life Tabernacle, and many more.
In fact there are around fifteen different churches that community members can attend. The highest percentage of attendees is Baptist.
