TESHEN DISPUTE 1918-1920

  • Teritorial dispute between Poland and Czechoslovakia
  • Fighting for land that has iron, railways and most importantly coal
  • Both presented case at Paris Peace Conference
  • The land was divided evenly into two different countries

WHY IT WAS SUCCESSFUL

  • The countries agreed on the treaty
  • They stopped fighting

  • Germany could not pay all the reperation
  • The reperation was to high
  • Some were raw materials, so Germany's factory were unable to function
  • A conference because of the unpaid reperation
  • France & Belgium wanted to occupy rhienland

  • Failed deliveries of timber and coal
  • France occupy center of coal, iron, and steel production
  • 130 Germans got killed in occupation
  • Resistance and protest by Germans
