PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Short Story
A fictional story that centers on a single idea and can be read in one sitting. 7th grade is an example of a short story.
Theme
A message about life or human nature that the reader shares. Four skinny trees is a good example of theme. A theme in the story is, Over coming obstacles is easy if you believe in yourself.
Mood/Atmosphere
The feeling or emotion that the writer creates for the reader. Oranges is a great example for atmosphere. It uses the words to show the atmosphere was gloomy.
Tone
The writers attitude toward his or her subject. Tone helps to identify the emotions in the story, like if a character is sad.
