PLATEAU

  • A plateau is flat land that is higher than the land around it.
  • The Colorado Plateau covers Utah, Arizona and New Mexico!

WATERFALL

  • A waterfall is a natural stream of water falling from a high place.
  • The largest waterfall in the world is Venezuela's Angel Fall!

DELTA

  • A delta is the mass of land that forms at the mouth of a river.
  • The largest delta is located in South Asia and is named Ganges Delta!

ESTUARY

  • A estuary is where river water and ocean water meet!
  • The Chesapeake Bay is the largest Estuary in the United States

INLET

  • An inlet is a narrow body of water off of a larger body of water!
  • The largest inlet is The Cooks Inlet!

FJORD

  • A long, narrow, deep inlet of the sea between high cliffs, as in Norway and Iceland, typically formed by submergence of a glaciated valley.
  • The Sognefjord is the largest Fjord!

Isthmus

  • A narrow strip of land with sea on either side, forming a link between two larger areas of land.
  • Panama is the largest Isthmus in the world!
