Scorpions live in very hidden places, and come out at night. In fact, they are nocturnal creatures. Scorpions hide during the day in burrows, cracks, rocks or caves. They usually spend their lifetime in hot places like deserts. Scorpions are not found in England.

The false scorpion is one of the smallest types of scorpions, growing to be 0.3 to 0.4 inches long. Scorpions are all different sizes depending on the species.

Some scorpions have the power to kill a human with stinging venom from their tail. Large scorpions are the ones that have the power to kill a human. However, scorpions actually prefer to retreat rather than to attack. Sometimes they must attack to hunt their food. Scorpions tend to hunt insects and occasionally larger animals, such as birds.
