  • It occurred because of a student named Herschel Grynszpan
On November 7th 1938 the Kristallnacht occurred because of a student named Herschel Grynszpan. He was a Polish and Jewish student; he shot a diplomat named Ernst Vom Rath. Vom Rath was part of the Hitler Organization.

Herschel Grynszpan

  • He was a 17 years old in the time of the war
  • He was Polish and Jewish student
  • His parents were taken away by the Nazis
On November 7th 1938 the Kristallnacht occurred because of a student named Herschel Grynszpan. He was a Polish and Jewish student; he shot a diplomat named Ernst Vom Rath. A German minister by the name Joseph Goebbels organized the attack a crossed the Europe. They had been looking for an excuse to attack the Jewish people and this was the excuse they needed. They told the firefighters to watch the Jewish buildings burn and only to help if the fires threatened non-Jewish buildings, home and/or business. tion.

They Ransacked

  • They burned and ransacked jewish houses, business and synagouse
  • they killed many Jewish and non-Jewish people

This is an example of a Synagogue.  The Nazi  burnt them down.

A Synagogue is a place where the Jewish worship.
