Slide Notes

This deck is all about a really cool website: Knowmia.com. This is a great place for teachers and students to take learning to a whole new level. Teachers can post complete assignments: notes, videos, pdf files, links, textbook info - all in one place. Students can work through lessons at their own pace and practice some of those things that are difficult.

  • Create a dynamic lesson for students
  • Upload directly to knowmia.com
  • Lessons have a max of 15 minutes
Simply go to the App Store and search Teach by Knowmia. There are two options at this time: free and pro. Free is a robust app that allows you to create a very dynamic lesson. There are highlighters, shapes, images, a red laser pointer, you name it and its there! You create slides like a powerpoint and then upload your lesson to Knowmia.com. You can even record your face while you are recording your audio so that your students can see you.

knowmia Teach Pro

  • Record items from the web
  • Upload your lesson directly to YouTube
  • Export your lesson to your Camera Roll
  • When saving to YouTube/Camera Roll there is no time limit
With the Teach Pro app - your creativeness will have no limits! You can record items from the web, upload your lessons to YouTube or export them to your Camera Roll. One of the really nice benefits about Teach Pro is the flexibility to have a lesson that can be a little longer than the 15 minute time limit. There is also more freedom about where to save your lesson so that you can choose exactly where you want to post it.

Knowmia Teach Apps

  • You can import items from several places:
  • Dropbox and Box.net
  • Google Drive
  • Gmail
  • Camera Roll
With both versions of the teach app, you can import lessons from several places: Dropbox, Box.net, or Google Drive. You can also import files from Gmail or your cameral roll. One of the cool things is that if you have a pdf file, it will open each page on a separate slide in the app. You will not need to spend tons of time moving different pages around. You may need to crop the files to a size that works better for your lesson - but that is not too difficult!
