PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The kangaroo is undoubtedly one of the most amazing creatures; instead of running, jumping, and has a marsupial pouch that serves as an effective care for their offspring. It is diversified across many species , but while some have a million individuals , others are on the very brink of extinction and some have even disappeared. All of them are found only on the Australian mainland and New Guinea
Kangaroos are restricted to the area of Australia , Tasmania , New Guinea and surrounding islands .
Features: brown on the dorsal part ( with reddish in males ) and in the ventral pale , females may have a bluish gray.
Size: head-body length : 75-110 cm females ; males up to 140 cm (maximum values) ; total height standing upright : 120-210 cm; Queue Length : 71-100 cm ( males) and 65-90 cm ( females ) .
Weight: From 22-85 kg (mean, 55 kg ) in males and 17-37 kg (mean, 30 kg ) in females.
Reproduction: A puppy ( rarely two ) per litter after a gestation period of 32-34 days.
All Kangaroos eat plants , preferably leaves or grass. The most primitive species tend to browse, while the latest usually graze . Thus, the red kangaroo is an herbivore . One of the activities that kangaroos often perform group is feeding.
