He is best known for his role in The Hunger Games.
Josh Hutcherson was born in Union, Kentucky on October 12, 1992 to Chris and Michelle Hutcherson.
He began acting at 9, working on TV before landing a part in the film American Splendor.
Josh was in lots of movies. Some were Zathura and Bridge to Terabithia, and his career reached "The Hunger Games."

Hutcherson wanted to be an actor since age 4, and when he was 9, his parents consented to take him in for a screen test. He was a natural.
His acting coach suggested that his parents take him to Hollywood for pilot season, and he began landing roles almost immediately.

Josh first tried TV-movies in 2002, along with a guest spot on the TV show ER, and got to be in his first feature film, American Splendor, in 2004. That same year he performed for the motion-capture film The Polar Express.
After that, in 2005, he did voice work for the animated film, Howl’s Moving Castle. Then had minor part in the Hollywood movie, Kicking & Screaming with Will Ferrell.
He also appeared on screen in his first lead roles in Little Manhattan and Zathura. He was did great in both movies.
In the next years, Josh showed his acting talent in a diverse array of films. His next role was as Robin Williams’ son in the goofy comedy, RV.

Then he filmed in the fantasy and drama filled, Bridge to Terabithia.

Next, he filmed in a vampire movie called “Cirque du Freak” 2010.
Then, he filmed in The Kids Are All Right with Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, and Mark Ruffalo.
His career is not slowing down. He will appear in a remake of a 1984 hit, Red Dawn, and will keep filming in The Hunger Games.
Hutcherson briefly dated his Journey 2 co-star Vanessa Hudgens.

Josh loves to ride motorcycles. He has a Harley Davidson Forty.
In 2012 he adopted a pit bull named Driver. He named him after Drive, which is Ryan Gosling's character.
He gave "Boys' Life" the scoop on his work and how he spends his spare time because he's usually outdoors.

Doing school while traveling was hard, but he always made it work. He and his mom would be traveling to do auditions.

He loves being outdoors. He's big into camping and hiking. He probably plays basketball three or four days a week.
