BORN AND RAISED

  • John Steinbeck was born in 1902.
  • He grew up in Salinas Valley, California.

STEINBECK'S AWARDS

  • His Novel, The Grapes of Wrath, won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award
  • In 1962 Steinbeck was awarded The Nobel Prize for Literature.
