PRESENTATION OUTLINE

JOHN DALTON

WHO WAS HE AND WHEN AND WHERE WERE THEY DOING THEIR WORK?

  • was an English chemist, meteorologist and physicist.
  • best known for his pioneering work in the development of modern atomic theory.
  • He was also known for his research in to colour blindness

WHAT DID HE DISCOVER AND/OR PROPOSE ABOUT ATOMS?

  • He descovered dalton law which describes the relationship of patial pressure
  • He proposed the existents of atoms
  • John dalton realised that there were many different kinds of atoms
  • Which he took further to experiment and make two atoms react together
  • John dalton created the five atomic theory

HOW DID JOHN DALTON MAKE HIS DICOVERY

  • He discovered atoms from his research in gases and his study of elements
  • He realised that two gases could only be combined in certain proportions even if they had the same element
