INDUSTRIAL Revolution

  • Jobs- coal mining, factory work, cotton mills, canal work.
  • Wages- 14-16 hours a day for 6 days a week at the cost of 10 cents an hour. Women revived one-third or sometimes one-half of what the men received. Children received even less
  • Working conditions- the only light that they had where sunlight that came through the windows. Workers are covered in black soot by the end of the day. ,many accidents happened from lack of safety. Many people got sick
  • Job duties- where very dangerous. Sometimes people who where working on the machines would end up losing an arm or leg.
  • Qualifications- 8 years of age.

INTERIOR Design

  • Wages- yearly $52,810 hourly $22.39 in May of 2011
  • Working conditions- they do not work regular business hours- they work around there clients schedules. They work in the clients home. Other then that in an office
  • Job duties- work with clients and meet there standards. Make sure the that they are safe. Coordinate work schedules. Plan and estimate budget for projects
  • Qualifications- bachelor degree

PHOTOGRAPHER

  • Wage- yearly 36,580 hourly $17.59 in May 2011
  • Working conditions- photographers work freelance. Working can get uncomfortable due to all weather conditions, remote locations, or a cramped studio.
  • Job duties- to create artificial lighting, develop and print exposed film, using photoshop.
  • Qualifications- high school diploma

THERAPIST

  • Wage- yearly $72,310 hourly $34.77
  • Working conditions- can be comfortable when working in your office. But they also travel a lot. To various of hospitals to nursing homes.
  • Job duties- counsel people- help them understand, identify psychological emotional or behavior issues and diagnose disorders.
  • Qualifications- masters in psychology, social work, mental health, marriage and family therapy, counseling or another relevant field.
