During Carter's term as President, he created two new cabinet-level departments: the Department of Energy and the Department of Education.

Some of the accomplishments Jimmy had achieved included the Panama Canal treaties, the Camp David Accords, the treaty of peace between Egypt and Israel, the SALT II treaty with the Soviet Union.

Jimmy Was born on October 1, 1924, in the small town of Planes, Georgia. As he grew up he became Planes's,76th governor.He died on February 20, 2014 at the age of 89.

After his terms in being president, Jimmy decided to move back to Georgia. Here he created manny shelters for people in his community.
