  • Caused by warm water that heats the air, creating temperature differences.
  • Named as such when they achieve speeds of 119 km/hr.
  • Classified with the Saffir-Simpson scale.

NEGATIVE EFFECTS

  • Hurricanes can cause destruction in ecosystems.
  • They destroy thehome and habitat of many living things.
  • After the storm, there is a lack of resources and people get infected by dangerous diseases.

  • Hurricanes can bring, in some way, benefits to the environment.
