THE FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL

  • 200,000 dolphins and small whales are killed because of this Japanese tradition.
  • Most of the remarks on this have mixed feelings, like for the foreign activists, who think its inhumane.
  • The dolphin meat is also poisonous, so the Japanese, according to some activists, act like they're immune.
  • The activists think that the poisonous meat is a possible solution.

THE FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL CONTINUATION

  • Japan thinks nothing is cruel about their actions.
  • Foreign activists think Japan is poisoning themselves.
  • The poisonous meat is a possible solution because
  • The fisherman will run out of business.

CONTINUATION OF G.R.A.P.E.S

  • Religion- Dolphin slaughters are part of the Japanese culture,
  • fishermen claimed they have done it for many years
  • The foreign activists also use publicity to stop the fishermen.

IMPACTING OTHERS

  • This event impacts others because people are fearing for the extinction of the dolphins.
  • My reaction to this is very surprising because I couldnt think of any tradition,
  • that involves killing a living animal
  • The other countries believe it is animal cruelty and it should be stopped,
  • but Japan believes that it's fine.

WHAT THE WORLD THINKS

  • The activists think that the meat is a possible solution because the people will eventually run out of business.
  • Foreign activist have tried to get a closer look at the killings, but Japanese police make sure they don't.
  • The dolphin meat is also poisonous, so the Japanese,
  • according to some foreign activists, are just poisoning themselves.

HOW THE FUTURE LOOKS

  • Right now this conflict is becoming major issue because people are thinking about the future for the dolphins.
  • For the future of the dolphins, They most likely will be extinct for atleast the major area near Japan.
  • The dolphins will impact the future of all the sea creatures too. One animal extinction can create a major,
  • Epidemic like situation.
  • Tourism is another impact that will happen because all the tourist come to Japan for many things.

HOW THE FUTURE LOOKS CONTINUATION

  • The ocean life is one of Japan's major tourist attractions. Without the dolphins,
  • One of Japan's major tourist attractions will disappear.
  • The dolphins will affect the life of other animals because the animals the
  • Dolphins eat will overpopulate and the animals that the dolphins are a
  • Food source to will lose a major food source, that can lead to another extinction.

GEOGRAPHICAL STUDIES

  • The affects that this event has on Japan's surroundings involve a decrease
  • In tourism and a future pollution problem. A part of keeping the ocean
  • Clean around Japan can change once theres not as many animals to
  • Protect. The water can get more and more polluted, because the dolphins
  • Eat smaller animals that will overpopulate without the dolphins.

GEOGRAPHICAL STUDIES CONTINUATION

  • The dolphins are also a source of food for other animals,
  • So the dolphins extinction will cause a break in the food chain.
  • A break in the food chain will cause the extinction of other animals.
  • Japan is an island, so it has more ocean to detract dolphins from,
  • Which will affect some of the surrounding land's dolphin sightings.

GEOGRAPGICAL STUDIES THREE

  • Another downside to the dolphin slaying is that the tourists,
  • Like to swim with dolphins as another attraction, but that
  • Can't happen if they're all gone, so Jaapn will lose it's
  • Geographic tourist points.
