The Sonic comics are only the main series, while the only Mario comic I found was a joke book. Also, the Mario games I believe included over 100 spin-offs, and games with Mario in it that aren't necessarily Mario games, like super smash brothers. I also chose not to count tv shows, and they wouldn't fit anyway.

I asked on schoology who people thought was better, Sonic or Mario. This is what I counted. (I would like to add with my vote Sonic would win)

In the end, I think it is safe to say that while many adults grew up with Mario, today's generation loves them equally.
