PRESENTATION OUTLINE
EARLY LIFE
James Dyson was born in Cromer, Norfolk Island England. He was one of three children and was sent to Gresham's Boarding School. When he had just finished school his father died of cancer. James said his father's death made him much more determined. He took up art at the Byam School of Art before turning to furniture and interior design and then to engineering.
James Dyson's Job
James Dyson is an industrial designer who designs needs for people. He has designed vacuum cleaners, hand dryers, blade less fans and even the ball barrow which is a wheelbarrow with a ball instead of a wheel.
James Dyson's Responsibilities.
As a designer James Dyson and an owner of a massive business has many responsibilities. A few of his responsibilities are, that he must make sure his products work, and to make sure that his designs are up to date. He needs to make sure that his products work because he will not make money if they don't work. He would also be wasting money making them. He also needs to make sure his designs are up to date because if you design the iPad for instance you don't just leave it you improve on it.
THE BLADE LESS FAN
The blade less fan or "air multiplier" blows air from a ring without external blades. Blade less fans produce a more constant airflow than traditional fans. The air is drawn in by a fan in the base and then directed up into a ring. It comes out of a crack all around the ring and then passes over a shape like an aeroplane wing.
DYSON VACUUM CLEANER
The " Cyclone Vacuum" doesn't have a traditional bag or filter system. Instead it sends the airstream through one or more cylinders, along a high speed spiral path. This motion works like a clothes dryer or a roller coaster. As the air stream shoots around in a spiral all the dirt particles experience a powerful force. They are whipped away from the air stream. The dirt is extracted without using any sort of filter, it simply collects at the bottom of the cylinder.
INSPIRATIONS
James Dyson's inspiration for his invention "The Cyclone Vacuum" was pure frustration. His vacuum at home kept clogging up so he decided to make one that actually works. In 1978 he invented the first bag less vacuum. He kept improving on his design for years until it became almost perfect. James has also gotten inspiration that he has carried all the way from childhood from when his father died. He has learnt the skill of determination and will not give up easily.
LIFE MADE EASIER
Our life has become much easier because of the inventions James Dyson has created. Such as the blade less fan, the air blade hand dryer and cyclone vacuum. All of James Dyson's inventions have in some way made many less problematic times. They have solved problems from dirty rugs to wet hands and to hot days. I personally think that he is a genius and can't wait for his next invention.
