Male children are valued in Chinese society more than woman. this means a huge imbalance for the male to female ratio

also affecting it the one child policy. which means 36 percent of couples can't have more than 1 child.

the Chinese youth attitude is not helping they are getting more rambunctious and less filial. Prompting many couples to second guess having a child.

The most affected areas of China are impoverished areas. This is due to the one child policy as it can be payed off. The most stricken city's are Guizhou,Gansu, and Yunnan.

China's government first responded by raising the retirement age, and improving public schooling. However it's to little to late and China's age is still rapidly increasing.
