• Ivan lived in Moscow his whole life.
• He lived in the Ususpov Palace.

• Ivan ran a government called monarchy.
• Monarchy is a government when the country is ruled by a king, queen, and emperor.

INTERESTING FACT

• Ivan did not die in battle.
• He died while playing a game of chess.
• He had a severe stroke and died while playing chess.

WHAT HE WAS LIKE.

• He was a bad leader because of these reasons.

WHY IS HE IMPORTANT?

• He was the first czar (emperor) because he was the first grand prince to crown himself czar.
• He also acquired fast amounts of land.
• He made a secret police that was made up of criminals.
• He punished traitors and law breakers with execution and confiscation of property.

HOW DID HE HANDLE THE PROBLEMS THAT HE FACED?

• He was prone to outbreaks and uncontrollable rage.
• So in other words not very good.

WHAT HE DID THAT CHANGED RUSSIA?

• He started the growth of Russia that turned into the giant landmass that it is today.

DISLIKE ABOUT IVAN THE TERRIBLE

• My group doesn't like the fact that he killed his own son. Even though he had some medical issues, he killed his son. Who does that?
