Italy:
School starts at 8:30 a.m.and school ends at 3:30 p.m.
Some subjects are history and science.
Japan:
School starts at 8:20 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. Some subjects are mathematics, science, gym/gymnastics, and shosha/learning letters by copying them.

Italy:
Ilaria wakes up at 7:30, brushes her teeth and washes her face, makes sure her bag is packed, and eats breakfast and goes to school at 8:10.

Japan:
Ryuichi wakes up at 6:00 a.m. and wakes up his sister at 6:30 a.m. He checks the weather report and decides what to wear, he watches the news while helping his mother, washes his face, and brushes his teeth. It takes about 25 minutes to get to school. I

Twice a week Ilaria has swimming.
Japan:
In gym class Ryuichi has gymnastics.

For breakfast Ilaria has milk and chocolate cookies, for snack she has plain white pizza topped with cheese instead of sauce, for lunch she has pasta with tomato sauce, salad, and cured ham, and for dinner she has baked fish and veggies.

For breakfast Ryuichi has white rice, grilled fish, boiled veggies, and miso soup. For lunch he has miso ramen noodles, stir fried veggies, deep fried dumplings, soybean snacks, and milk. For dinner he has ginger pork.
