Summary
Chapter 23
Karana Was alone again. The aluets just left and they left behind many injured otters. Karana found a young otter
She healed a young wounded otter back to health. She fed the otter and named it mon-a-nee.(little boy with big eyes)

Chapter 24
Karana found two birds and named them tainor and lurai. Tainor was not badly hurt but he had a broken leg. Karana started preparing for the aluets if they ever came back. Later on Mon-a-nee left.

Chapter 25
Karana found Rontu dead...

Chapter 26
Karana found a dog that looked similar to Rontu. Karana tried to set up a trap to catch the dog,but she caught alot of diffrent dogs but not the one with the yellow eyes. After a while she got hold of the dog with the yellow eyes,so she kept it in her house and no matter what it will always get in Karana's food.After a while Karana called the dog Rontu-Aru.

Chapter 27
A storm happened and karana pulled a canoe out of the shallow water and she flipped it over and slept in it. When she woke up the tide was really low. She saw a white crest in the distance moving towards the island.

Chapter 28
After all of that there was an earthquake, all of her canoes that she stored were gone. In the distance she saw a ship go further and further till it was out of sight.

Chapter 29
The came back to find new land. When the men reached the shore they made a camp.Her and Rontu aru left the island.
