PRESENTATION OUTLINE
When I came one of the first things I noticed was how they dressed. They are supposed to dress modestly. They're not supposed to show figure or hair!
Some things you should know about Pakistan in that Islam is the main religion here. The population is 180 million people. And Pakistan is bordered by India, Afghanistan, Iran and China.
Their beliefs are very different here. For one they believe in a day of judgement which tells if you go to heaven or hell. They also have one God they worship, Allah. Another one of their beliefs is Predestination which pretty much means that Allah is always watching to see do your being bad or good like Santa.
Since it is a big part of their beliefs here I go to their mosques to pray with them. We have to have a ritual washing to cleanse ourselves before entering. And the men sit apart front the women so not to cause distraction.
Their foods are different here. We are not allowed to eat pork or lard. We're also not allowed to have blood of any kind. And the meat has to slaughtered correctly by them in their ways to be eaten.
They strongly believe in the Quran, which is like our bible back home. It was revealed to Muhammad in Arabic. All people have to learn it in Arabic to even if it's not their language.
Some of their religions ceremonies include things very different then what we do. For example when a child is born they have to have special words whispered in their ear before they hear anything else. Andy of course they have Hajj and the 5 pillars.
For holy days they sleeve in Ramadan which is the ninth month of their calendars where they fast. They also believe n other days but I can't pronounce those.
They have to pray five times a day here! At dawn, midday,late afternoon, just after sunset and between sunset and midnight. Also again they believe in whispering special words into their babies ears right after their born.
Their key people are Muhammed who they believe was Allah's final profit. Abraham who started the religion. And Allah their messiah.
That's what I'm doing here in Pakistan!
