THE GEOGRAPHIC ORIGIN OF THE RELIGION ISLAM WOULD BE SAUDI ARBIA.

FOUNDING LEADERS

  • The founding leaders of the Islamic religion would be Allah which is the one and only God. Also Allah's last prophet Muhammad is important in Islam.

MAJOR HOLIDAYS

  • Eid al Fitr- Ends Ramanda, month of fasting. Eid celebrations being with special prayer in mosques.
  • Hajj- Pilgrimage to Mecca to worship in the Ka'ha. Hajj is part of the five pillars of Islam. You are required to make a pilgrimage to the city at least once if financially and physically able.
  • Muharram- Muharram is the Islamic new year. Muharram is the month with which the Muslims begin their lunar Hijrah Calendar.

MAJOR TRADITIONS

  • Muslims are required to pray five times a day facing Mecca wherever you are.
  • Muslims must fast during the month of Ramadan.
  • Every adult Muslim is expected to make Hajj the pilgrimage to make to the holy city of Mecca.

THE SACRED BOOK OF THE ISLAMIC RELIGION IS CALLED THE QUR'AN.

THE ISLAMIC PLACE OF WORSHIP KNOWN AS A MOSQUE.

EXPLANATION OF ISLAM

  • The Islamic religion believes in one and only God, Allah. Also Muhammad is believed to be Allah's last prophet, he is the founding leader of the Islam religion. Muhammad was acknowledged by an angle that said to him "There is only God, and his name is Allah. Worship him." Lastly the Islamic holy book is called the Quran. Muslims gather on Friday the sabbath day in mosques.
