Isaac Newton was born in the 17th century in Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth in the United Kingdom.

At first Newton was very shy and kept to himself, he was bullied by other students at school and that made him think less of himself.

He didn't do well at school at first, but then he realised he wasn't being his best, so he picked up hugely on his work, becoming the top of the class.

When he was young he made lots of different things and inventions. One main one was a model windmill that was driven by mice running in a treadmill.

Isaac Newton also made a water clock and flew kites with lanterns attached to them.

Newton had many great discoveries, such as his experiment where he passed sunlight through a prism and found that white light is a mixture of the colours on the rainbow.

His greatest discovery was his theory of gravitation.

He had an amazing imagination and used it to create many great things. The only thing was that he spent a lot of time arguing with other scientists and he couldn't take criticism. Isaac didn't like being in public or having contact with other people.

Some other inventions that Isaac Newton made are the pet door and reflecting telescope.

The pet door or pet flap is a small door in a wall or window that allows Pets to enter and exit a house on their own without needing someone to open the door.

The reflecting telescope is an optical illusion which uses a single or combination of curved mirrors that reflect light and form a picture.
