Iroquois Tribe

General Information

  • They are mostly followers of Christianity; therefore they have a lot of celebrations
  • Their population is 125,000 decreasing; because there is isolation.
  • Their weapons are sharp rocks, spears, and bow and arrows, but they maily use them for hunting.
  • they don't have celebrations for becoming an adult, nor do they have traditional stories.

Housing

  • Their home is 200 ft in length, so it can fit 20 families at once
  • Their home is called a longhouse; it is made out og wood.

Food

  • Corn and squash were braided while the meat and fish were smoked, and vegetables were dried.
  • They either eat meats, or the eat vegetables.

Clothing

  • Their clothes don't change during the different seasons; even though it gets buring hot and freezing cold.
  • They wore elk, deer, and corn husks; althouth they wore wove plants and tree fibers too.

Daily Life

  • The Iroquois tribe have the men outside, and the women taking care of the household.
  • They like to hunt, but the mostly fish.
