One night, sweet was in a bar and bob schartzar came in and said "Me and the Glans were thinking you'd make a pretty good coach".

Sweet steps up and becomes the baseball coach, which is not a respected job at Macon high.
At first the team doesn't do very well, but they didn't give up and kept practicing and eventually got better.
