INVASIVE SPECIES PROJECT.

ASIAN CARP.

  • Asian carp were imported from asian in the early 1970s, for aquaculture purposes. They then escaped from the aquaculture facilities,into the midwest rivers and lakes.
  • The carp traveled by swimming.
  • These fish are out crowding other fish species.
  • There is no impact on the species itself

RABBITS.

  • Rabbit originates from mostly meadows,thicket,grasslands,forest/woods.
  • Rabbit were introduced to Australia 1827 as food to other animals,but soon became over populated.
  • Rabbit are causing millions of dollars of damage to crops in Australia .
  • There is no impact on the rabbit

CANE TOADS

  • Cane toads originated from mexico,central america,and south america.
  • Cane. Toads wer introduced to Australia in 1945
  • Cane toads are very poisonous
  • Australia can get very dry sometimes and if it is too dry the toads could die.

KUDZU.

  • Kuzu originatyed from asia
  • It was introduced to southern america in 1942
  • Kudzu harms the air and environment
  • It has no effect on itself

GRAY SQUIRREL.

  • Come from native to eastern america.
  • In 1966 a bunch of gray squirrel escaped from a farm,and traveled to Europe
  • They are causing damage to homes in environment from digging up laws and gardens.
  • They have no effects on themselves

KILLER BEES.

  • These bees originated from africa.
  • Came to the u.s in may 2013.
  • Swarms of them are attacking innocent people and animals at one time.
  • There is no effect on the bees.

STARLINGS.

  • Originated from europe.
  • In 1999 one hundred starlings were released in central park an migrated to different parts of the u.s.
  • Starling have toxic waist,and if inhaled,could be deadly.the birds are also very loud,obnoxious,and destructive.
  • There is no effect on the birds.

NORTHERN SNAKEHEAD.

  • Came from eastern asia.
  • This fish is a predator that survives off other see animals.
  • Certain fish will soon be scarce if these snakehead continue to invade.
  • There is no effect on the fish.

ZEBRA MUSSELS.

  • Originated from south america.
  • Made there way here in the mid 1980s to the great lakes of north america.
  • They're polluting the waters.
  • There's no effect on the mussels.

BURMESE PYTHON.

  • Came from northeast asia.
  • Was first spotted in the u.s. In 2012,in florida.
  • They are deadly to humans,and our wildlife
  • There is no effect on the snakes.
