Qualitative research
- Uses an inductive approach
- It's goal is to provide depth
- The setting is natural
- The sample is purposeful
- It uses specific methods
- The data analysis is interpretive (the researcher is the lens)
- Seeks to explore the "how" and "why" questions

- Recurrent themes or hypotheses
- As a way to generate survey items
